Why?
• By law, if a student is receiving special education services he/she must have a re-evaluation every three years.
• Once a team determines that further testing is required, the team must meet to review the results of the testing and use this information to create an appropriate IEP if this student still qualifies for special education services.

What happens at this meeting?
• Each team member, that completed an assessment/s, reports his/her findings.
• Based on the new findings, the team determines if the student still qualifies for special education.
• The team reviews the student’s current placement and determines if it is still appropriate for the student’s level of needs.
• The team creates appropriate goals and objectives to address the student’s needs.
• The team determines what related services this student may require and how often these services should occur.
• The team will also address areas such as state testing, extended school year services, and transition planning.

Who is involved?
• All current team members including parents
• Additional team members if testing shows there is a need for additional services.
